According to the legend, in ancient times Kuber was a great devotee of Lord Shiva. He used to worship Lord Shiva every day by bringing rare and fragrant flowers from Manasarovar. One day Hemmali became so engrossed in spending time with his wife that he could not deliver the flowers in time for the worship of Lord Shiva. Due to this Kuber became very angry. Due to the effect of the fast, his curse ended, his body became as healthy and beautiful as before and he regained his old respect and happiness.
