Manchester United has made a landmark announcement by confirming the precise location of its future stadium. This massive project, designed to accommodate 100,000 spectators, will officially replace the iconic Old Trafford, signalling the beginning of a new golden chapter for the legendary English club.
The new stadium will be situated just 350 metres from the current Old Trafford site, in the area known as Trafford Wharfside. The club has emphasised that it intends to preserve its long-standing traditions, matchday atmosphere, and the deep sense of history that binds it to its supporters.
According to the plans, this development will spearhead the creation of a new "Stadium District" — a multi-purpose zone aimed at hosting sporting, entertainment, and leisure activities throughout the year. Beyond football, the district is envisioned as a major economic catalyst for the regeneration of the Greater Manchester area.
Club Chief Executive Collette Roche described the project as a once-in-a-generation opportunity. She underscored that maintaining the stadium’s authentic atmosphere, ensuring accessibility for all fans, and keeping ticket prices affordable will remain central principles in the new design.
