From AI toilet to STEM lab… CM Rekha Gupta’s big gift to Delhi government schools

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated several modern facilities at the Government Girls Senior Secondary School located in Shalamar village under the Saksham program being run by Ladli Foundation in collaboration with Honeywell Technology in CSR support. These include AI integrated smart school toilet, STEM innovation lab, modern computer lab, smart digital classroom and special programs related to health and awareness of girl students.

on this occasion Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Said that the strong foundation of new India will be prepared only through modern, scientific and technology based education. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, new education policy, digital education, skill development, science and innovation are being continuously promoted in the country.

In accordance with this vision, Delhi Government is also developing modern infrastructure in government schools, so that quality and technology-based education can be available to every student.

AI integrated smart school toilet launched

On this occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the AI-integrated smart school toilet installed in the school premises. This state-of-the-art facility has been specially developed keeping in mind the safety, hygiene, health and dignity of girl students.

Facilities like modern sensor based monitoring system, cleanliness monitoring, water conservation and better maintenance have been provided in these smart toilets, which will provide a safe, clean and respectable environment to the girl students.

The Chief Minister said that education and health of girls are interlinked and better sanitation facilities play an important role in ensuring their regular attendance in schools.

Will get training from STEM Innovation Lab

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the state-of-the-art STEM Innovation Lab established in the school. In these laboratories, girl students will be provided facilities for robotics, AI, coding, IoT, space science, electronics, design thinking and innovation based practical learning. STEM Lab education will develop scientific thinking, problem solving ability, creativity and spirit of innovation in the students.

Through these facilities, students will get the benefit of digital content, smart board, interactive teaching materials, computer-based training and modern teaching methods.

Under the program, a comprehensive health program was also launched for about 3,000 girl students. Under this initiative, medical check up of girl students, eye screening, distribution of free spectacles as per requirement, deworming campaign and menstrual hygiene awareness sessions are being organized so that the health, nutrition and self-confidence of the girl students can be strengthened.

Girl students will learn space science, will get training in America

During the program, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta congratulated five talented students who excelled in the STEM Innovation Lab for being selected for the prestigious Space Science Program organized at the United States Space and Rocket Center (USARC) located in the state of Alabama, USA.

While giving air tickets to America to the selected students, he said that the daughters of Delhi will now showcase their talent in the field of science and technology on the global platform. He expressed confidence that this achievement will inspire thousands of other girl students to move forward in the field of science and research.

Power infrastructure will be modernized

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also launched various development works for modernization of power infrastructure in Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency during the program. On this occasion, he launched the project of converting open power cables operated for years in the area by Tata Power-DDL (TPDDL) into protected insulated (AB) cables and underground power lines.

He said that under this, 33 KV and 11 KV overhead power lines will be undergrounded in a phased manner and converted into insulated cables. The first phase of the project will include Club Road, Bhagwan Mahavir Marg, Swami Shraddhanand Saraswati Marg (Banana Godown Road), Shaheed Udham Singh Marg, K. l. Work is being started on many major roads including Bagga Marg and Maharshi Dayanand Marg (AL Market Road).

Green flag given to waste collection tipper vehicles

During the program, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, taking an important initiative towards building a clean, green and pollution-free Delhi, flagged off 137 state-of-the-art electric primary waste collection tipper vehicles of the Municipal Corporation.

He said that these electric garbage collection vehicles will be deployed as 37 vehicles in Keshavpuram zone, 46 in Rohini zone, 24 in Narela zone and 30 in Civil Lines zone. With the operation of these vehicles, the door-to-door garbage collection system will be more effective and sanitation services will be provided to the citizens in a better way.
