Italy’s sports front pages on Saturday are dominated by three major exclusive interviews, with Hakan Calhanoglu, Cesc Fabregas and Weston McKennie all in the spotlight ahead of the friendly edition of the Derby d’Italia between Juventus and Inter in Perth.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Calhanoglu has made it clear that he intends to stay with Inter. “I want only Inter,” says the headline, with the Turkey midfielder rejecting speculation about a move back to his homeland: “Forget Turkey, I’m staying here.” He also says the Nerazzurri are capable of going all the way in the Champions League, while he waits for the club to contact him regarding a new deal. His position comes after Galatasaray’s long-standing interest fell through.

Corriere dello Sport, meanwhile, gives prominence to Cesc Fabregas, who describes Inter as the standard-setters in Serie A.

“The peak is Inter,” says the Como coach, who also names Lautaro Martinez as the best player in the league: “I’d buy him in Fantasy football.” He compares his own Nico Paz to Kaka and outlines the “Como model” as well as his ambitions of reaching the Champions League.

Tuttosport instead places Weston McKennie on its front page under the headline “Juve forever.”

The American midfielder speaks of his attachment to the club, pointing to the loyalty shown by Totti and Del Piero. He says he wants to win the Europa League in order to get Juventus back into the Champions League, and lightly brushes aside Inter’s label as title favourites, suggesting it is more a media storyline than anything else.

The interviews come as the two giants prepare to meet in Perth, in what will be the final meeting between them until 2027. Juventus, with Kerim Alajbegovic expected to be involved, are looking for another convincing performance from Spalletti’s side, while Cristian Chivu delivered a clear message over the need for new signings: “We’re incomplete, I trust my directors.”

Milan, managed by Amorim, are also in action in Australia against Chelsea. The Portuguese coach has again stressed that a club of Milan’s size must aim for the Scudetto, even as he continues to deal with uncertainty surrounding Rafael Leao, Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

In the transfer market, the newspapers describe a busy day. Roma have seen their move for RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa slow down and are now looking towards Lyon’s Malick Fofana, with Gasperini still in search of an attacking midfielder.

Napoli’s attempt to sign Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus is said to be “all true,” although it depends on an outgoing transfer, while Juventus remain at work on deals for Jhon Lucumi and Joshua Zirkzee.
