Sky Germany has reported that Harry Kane has already given an internal go-ahead to a new contract extension.

"Kane has said yes. The Bayern bosses have been informed. Kane is set to extend his contract with Bayern," reporter Kerry Hau said.

This gives Bayern Munich greater clarity over the future of the England star, although the extension has not yet been fully completed.

Kane is currently on extended leave after his 2026 World Cup campaign with England and is expected to return to Munich in the coming days.

Once he is back, discussions between Kane and Bayern's senior officials are expected to move forward significantly, with the plan being to extend his contract until 2029.

Importantly, Kane is not expected to accept a pay cut, with the England striker among Bayern's top earners on an annual salary of €25 million.

One key reason behind Kane's decision is understood to be his life away from football, with the striker and his family said to be very settled in Munich.

As a result, it had become increasingly evident in recent weeks that a return to England was not a priority for him at this stage.
