To decorate the plate, first choose the right base. Brass or bronze thali gives a traditional look, whereas even a plain steel thali can be made attractive by decorating it. Before using the plate, clean it thoroughly and make it shine.
The decoration of flowers in the Hariyali Teej thali looks very beautiful. A border around the plate can be made with marigold, rose or jasmine petals. Planting green leaves with yellow and red flowers will further enhance the decoration.
