Bollywood stars and television personalities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Karisma Kapoor, Ram Charan, Ravi Kishan, Varun Dhawan and members of the ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5’ panel, marked Independence Day with messages centred on patriotism, unity, diversity and India’s future.

Varun Dhawan shared a picture with the National Flag and reflected on India’s journey from colonial rule to freedom, paying tribute to those who fought for the country’s Independence and expressing pride in being Indian.

Ravi Kishan shared a photograph from the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort and saluted the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives. He also called for collective efforts towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India.

Ram Charan kept his message brief, writing, “Happy Independence Day to every Indian. Proud to be a part of this incredible nation. Jai Hind.”

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan also shared his greetings, writing, “The day of freedom; an auspicious day of congratulations! Vande Mataram !!!”

Actor Maniesh Paul shared a longer message reflecting on India’s ability to stand together during difficult times and look towards a brighter future. He called for collective efforts to build a stronger India and urged people to move forward with hope, dreams and unity.

Karisma Kapoor spoke about India’s diversity and the talent emerging from different parts of the country. Referring to her role as a judge on ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5’, she said watching young dancers bring their distinct cultures and stories to the stage was inspiring.

She said the younger generation was expressing itself fearlessly and wished for the country to continue progressing with pride, unity and love.

Jaaved Jaaferi, who is also a judge on the dance reality show, said Independence Day should be seen not only as a celebration of freedom but also as a reminder of the responsibility that comes with it.

He highlighted India’s diverse cultures, languages, traditions and artistic expressions, saying the contestants on ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5’ reflected that diversity and gave hope for the future of Indian art and culture.

Choreographer and judge Terence Lewis said Independence Day represented the freedom to dream, express oneself and pursue one’s ambitions. He linked that freedom to the journeys of young dancers on the show, saying their determination demonstrated what could be achieved through confidence and hard work.

Geeta Kapur also spoke about India’s cultural diversity and the unity that binds people together. She said the contestants on ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5’ represented different backgrounds and were bringing their individual stories and cultural influences to the stage.

Together, the messages from the film and television fraternity reflected a common celebration of India’s Independence, its diversity and the aspirations of its younger generation.
