England international Marcus Rashford has offered another sign that he may remain at Manchester United this season.
The forward is back at his boyhood club after spending the last season and a half out on loan at Aston Villa and Barcelona.
The England star had slipped out of favour under former United manager Ruben Amorim and, as a result, his last competitive appearance for the club came in December 2024.
He was back in action during pre-season under new manager Michael Carrick, with United losing 4-2 to Amorim’s AC Milan in their final friendly before the start of the new Premier League season.
On that occasion, Rashford wore the No9 shirt, adding further fuel to suggestions that his future could still be at Old Trafford.
Carrick has brought the winger back into the first-team setup after his extended break following the World Cup, where Rashford made six appearances, scoring once and providing one assist.
Even so, despite his return, speculation continues over whether he will still be a United player once the transfer window deadline passes on September 1.
Now 28, Rashford has once again sparked discussion over his future after replying to a 'Stick to Football' clip on social media.
In the clip, Jamie Carragher expressed his irritation at Rashford once again becoming a talking point after Gary Neville had asked for his views on the forward ahead of the new season.
“Can we do a podcast without mentioning Rashford?
“Stop it. Oh my God. It’s like the Trent (Alexander-Arnold) and Rashford... like a little part of the podcast. The Trent part or the Rashford part.”
Rashford responded on X, writing: “Thanks, Jamie.
“It would be great to be able to get my head down and play football without my name being mentioned every day.”
United travel to newly-promoted Hull City for their opening match of the season on Saturday, and Rashford is in contention to feature alongside Carrick’s new signings Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
