BJP Vs Congress: The politics of UP has heated up over the alleged fish feast organized to welcome Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai in Ayodhya. Regarding this program held in the month of Sawan, BJP has targeted Congress and linked it to Sanatan traditions and religious sentiments. After the controversy escalated, Ajay Rai has now directly challenged BJP's allegations.
Ajay Rai rejected the allegations of attending the fish feast and said that if anyone has a single photo or video of him eating fish at this event, then it should be brought forward. He claimed that if any such picture comes to light, he is ready to resign.
Giving clarification, Ajay Rai said that he had reached Ayodhya to attend a program of Nishad Samaj. He says that the Nishad community has its own social and traditional beliefs. Referring to Lord Ram and Nishadraj, he said that Nishadraj has an important place in Ramayana and it is not wrong to go there on the invitation of the people of the society.
BJP is continuously attacking Congress regarding the matter. Party leaders raised questions as to why a fish feast was organized in Ayodhya in a religious month like Sawan. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also made a sharp attack on Congress on this issue and alleged that on one hand Congress talks about religious faith, while on the other hand its leaders participate in such programs.
Whereas Congress says that BJP is trying to give political color to this entire matter. After Ajay Rai's resignation statement, the matter has now moved beyond allegations and counter-allegations to the challenge of proof.
