Ranchi. The district administration has taken a big step to improve law and order and ensure smooth traffic in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. Under this, there is now a complete ban on organizing any kind of protest, demonstration, procession, gherao or public meeting in the city without prior permission. According to the new guidelines issued by the administration, now any political party, social organization or common citizens will be required to take written permission from the Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) before organizing a rally or demonstration. Let us tell you that this step has been taken to maintain law and order after the situation that emerged during the recent protest march of JPSC-JSSC Reform Forum and student movements.
Organizers will have to provide this information
To obtain permission, the organizers will now have to submit a detailed outline to the administration, which should include the exact time of start and end of the program. Also, there should be complete information about the route through which the procession or rally will pass. Apart from this, there should also be details of the estimated crowd of people or protesters attending the program. There should also be details of key speakers or special guests who will address the gathering.
Strict action on road jams and rumors
The district administration has clarified that peaceful protest is the constitutional right of the citizens. But, strict legal action will be taken against those blocking public roads unauthorizedly and disrupting emergency services. Apart from this, Ranchi Police has also given a strict warning to those sharing misleading and unconfirmed news on social media. The administration has especially appealed to the students to confirm administrative permission from the organizers before becoming a part of any movement or rally.
