While all eyes are on Devara in the last week of September, it is another film next month that is likely to find all the box office traction. Jigra, produced by Karan Johar and directed by Vasan Bala, which stars Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina as siblings, is being talked about within the industry as the film to watch. Although Devara, Part 1 is being released in the last week of September, its box office impact will be clear in October only. “But it isn’t likely to happen,” Bihar’s exhibitor, Rohan Singh tells Zoom. “After RRR, both Ramcharan and Tarak (NTR) are eager to score a pan-India hit. But they have no substantial fan following in the North. On the other hand, Jigra has a powerful sibling angle, and Alia Bhatt is cast as the hero. She has earlier scored big as a hero in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi.”ALSO READ: Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor's Daughter Raha's Adorable Moment With Dadi Neetu Singh Is The Cutest Thing On Internet TodayThe prospects for this Friday’s release, Yudhra, are also looking bleak. Producer and film-trade expert Girish Johar tells Zoom, “The traction for Yudhra is below par. Though the scale and mounting of the film are set up on a good big scale by the producers, the film has not managed to gain extraordinary traction, at least till now. Hope the film picks up traction by its word of mouth and consolidates over the weekend at the box office. Further, the action genre can get some takers, fingers crossed, the more the better.” All eyes are now on October releases when Alia takes on the box office.
