Every Thursday Balaji's makeup is removed and he is given a bath. Along with this, sandalwood paste is applied on the Lord. When this paste is removed, the figure of Goddess Lakshmi is visible in the heart of the Lord.

Flowers and Tulsi are not given to the devotees

The flowers and Tulsi offered in this temple are not returned to the devotees. They are thrown into a well built in the temple premises. While throwing them, the priest never looks back.

The direction of the statue changes

Whenever a devotee goes to the sanctum sanctorum to have darshan of the idol, the idol appears to be situated in the middle of the sanctum sanctorum. However, when one comes out of the sanctum sanctorum and looks, the idol appears to be on the right side.
