Tirupati Balaji Temple Secrets: The grand and famous temple of Lord Venkateshwara is situated on Tirumala hill near Tirupati in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. In this temple, Lord Vishnu's incarnation Venkateshwara is seated with his wife Padmavati. Goddess Padmavati is considered to be the form of Mother Lakshmi. It is a religious belief that Lord Vishnu, the protector of the world, took incarnation in the form of Lord Venkateshwara to save his devotees from troubles and problems.

Every Thursday Balaji's makeup is removed and he is given a bath. Along with this, sandalwood paste is applied on the Lord. When this paste is removed, the figure of Goddess Lakshmi is visible in the heart of the Lord.
A lamp is always lit in Balaji temple. Neither oil nor ghee is poured in this lamp. No one even knows who lit this lamp first and when.
It is believed that Pachai camphor is applied on Lord Balaji. This is such a camphor that which causes cracks in the stone on which it is applied. However, it has no effect on the idol of Balaji.
According to religious belief, cosmic energy is believed to reside in the eyes of Lord Venkateshwara. Due to this, no devotee can look directly into the eyes of the Lord. This is the reason why his eyes are covered with a white mask. The mask of the Lord's eyes is changed only on Thursdays. In such a situation, devotees can see the eyes of the Lord only for a moment.
The flowers and Tulsi offered in this temple are not returned to the devotees. They are thrown into a well built in the temple premises. While throwing them, the priest never looks back.
Whenever a devotee goes to the sanctum sanctorum to have darshan of the idol, the idol appears to be situated in the middle of the sanctum sanctorum. However, when one comes out of the sanctum sanctorum and looks, the idol appears to be on the right side.
