The makers of ' Vettaiyan ' hosted a preview and audio launch event for the movie in Chennai yesterday (September 20). The event was graced by the presence of Rajinikanth , Manju Warrier , Rana Daggubati , and others, but Amitabh Bachchan could not attend the grand event. However, he did not forget to send a video message to his team members and fans.

In the video message, Big B called Rajinikanth the "supreme of all stars," which left the crowd whistling and cheering for the superstar. Amitabh said, "Vettaiyan is my first Tamil film, and I'm very honored. Rajinikanth is the supreme of all stars."

The ' Kalki 2898 AD ' actor also reminisced about his experience working with Rajinikanth in the 1991 film ' Hum ', directed by Mukul S. Anand . In the movie, Rajinikanth played Bachchan's younger brother, with Govinda also in the cast. Bachchan recalled how, during the shoot, while he would retreat to his air-conditioned vanity van for rest, Rajinikanth preferred to lie down on the floor of the film set. This anecdote highlights Rajinikanth’s simplicity and grounded nature, even during high-profile shoots.

"I used to rest in my AC vehicle while shooting for 'Hum', and Rajini slept on the floor during breaks. Watching him be so simple, I came out of the vehicle and rested outside," he added in the video message.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel , 'Vettaiyan' will be released in theaters on October 10 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
