Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik met Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday. After meeting the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief in Mumbai, Malik said that I have asked Uddhav Thackeray to field one candidate against another candidate. All parties should keep one face for one candidate, this will lead to 100 percent success and this time BJP will be wiped out in the state.

He further said that the Maharashtra elections were to be held along with Haryana, but the government is afraid that it will lose the elections. I say that you can hold elections anytime, but you are bound to lose. I have given my support to Uddhav Thackeray. I will come for his election campaign and will also go for his Vijay Yatra.

Mahayuti vs Mahavikas Aghadi in Maharashtra

There are 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra. Elections may be held here in November. Political parties have started setting political equations for the elections. On one side in the state is the Mahayuti which is in power. It includes BJP, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party. On the other side is the Mahavikas Aghadi, which includes Congress, Uddhav faction's Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar-led NCP.

Regarding the assembly elections to be held in the state, Malik said that not only will the BJP suffer a big setback, but the party will also be wiped out in the state. Uddhav Thackeray will play an important role in this election. There is no need to worry. I have given my full support to the MVA and I will also campaign for it.

'It will have a significant impact on the country's political landscape'

Just a day before meeting Uddhav Thackeray, on Saturday, Malik had said that the Maharashtra elections will have a significant impact on the country's political scenario. He had also said that the state's election results will act as the last nail in the BJP's coffin. Maharashtra will give direction to the country.

Malik had made a big claim a day earlier

Apart from this, the former governor had criticized the central government for delaying elections in Maharashtra and Haryana and said that this was being done due to fear of losing to opposition parties. He estimated that Congress can get 60 seats in Haryana while BJP can get only 20 seats. Apart from this, Malik also reiterated his demand for an investigation into the Pulwama terrorist attack in 2019 in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed.
