The messaging app Telegram, which has become increasingly popular in the last few years, has also been accused of providing a safe means of communication to criminals. To curb criminals on this app, Telegram will provide IP addresses and phone numbers of users to government agencies on valid legal requests.

Telegram has changed its terms of service to prevent criminals from misusing this app. Telegram CEO, Pavel Durov has given this information. Earlier, Telegram has been ignoring requests from the governments of some countries to provide information about suspected criminals. However, efforts are made to stop wrong content on this app through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a team of moderators. Durov said that as part of efforts to prevent misuse, Telegram has started hiding the wrong types of content from its search results.

Durov was arrested in France last month. He was accused of being responsible for the disturbances in this messaging app. In this case, Russia had warned France that Durov should be given his rights. Durov was arrested soon after arriving at Le Bourget Airport near Paris on a private jet from Azerbaijan. Elon Musk, the owner of social media platform X, said on Durov's arrest that freedom of expression is being attacked in Europe.

Durov was arrested by the police in France due to an arrest warrant against him. In this case, Telegram said in a statement, "Telegram complies with the laws in the European Union (EU), including the Digital Services Act. Durov has nothing to hide and he often travels in Europe. It is absurd to claim that a platform or its owner is responsible for the misuse of that platform." According to Forbes estimates, Durov has assets worth more than $ 15 billion. He said in April that the governments of some countries are putting pressure on him.
