India’s top batter, Shreyas Iyer, is now representing Mumbai in the Irani Cup 2024 against the rest of India.

One of the few capped Indian players taking part in the crucial game taking place at Lucknow’s Ekana Cricket Stadium is Shreyas.

In a touching turn of events, Shreyas, who is not part of the Indian team’s plans for the baseball tournament, thought of a wonderful gesture to help the underprivileged kids.

Notably, Iyer surreptitiously gave out a couple bottles of cold beverages to children outside the stadium by hiding them under his practice equipment. He was also overheard adding that the youngsters should enjoy themselves since it’s too hot.

The internet is ablaze with videos of Shreyas’ gesture. After enduring the scorching heat in the stadium, he felt the same way about the less fortunate children and proceeded to offer them a cool drink by concealing it under the practice outfit.

Iyer assisted a woman who was struggling financially before, so this isn’t the first time his great deed has made headlines.

A few months before, near the conclusion of the video, Shreyas gave some money to a needy lady despite being swarmed by people asking for signatures and photos.

Speaking about the current Irani Cup match, Shreyas struck a stunning half-century and seemed to be in excellent form.

With six fours and two sixes, he amassed 57 runs in 84 balls.

Mumbai was 172/4 in 50 overs at the tea break after being allowed to bat first, with captain Ajinkya Rahane (62) and Sarfaraz Khan (17) at the crease.
