Ahead of the India vs. Bangladesh T20 international cricket match on Sunday, October 6, the district magistrate in Gwalior has issued prohibitory orders, which prohibit demonstrations, the burning of effigies, gatherings of five or more people, protests, and the carrying of flammable materials, among other things.

The Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium will host the first T20 international between Bangladesh and India. After a 14-year break, an international cricket match will take place at the Gwalior stadium.

The district magistrate and collector, Ruchika Chauhan, has issued directives that are effective now and will last until October 7, the day following the game. The Gwalior Superintendent of Police recommended that the orders be issued.

Following the request for a Gwalior bandh by several religious organizations, including the Hindu Mahasabha, the district magistrate was compelled to issue orders. A demonstration was held, and the calls to call off the game due to the horrors inflicted against Hindus in Bangladesh became more and more numerous.

Bangladesh’s political turmoil even compelled a government transition, which prompted the outgoing prime minister to leave the nation.

After extensive negotiations with all parties involved, the International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to relocate the current ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates. Many countries have been obliged to issue travel recommendations against Bangladesh due to the current political situation in the country.

To guarantee a peaceful match, almost 1,500 police officers have been stationed in Gwalior.

The area around the hotel where the teams are staying has been closed off to the general public as an additional security measure. Additionally, the team bus will travel in a convoy from the stadium to the hotel; this will be off-limits to the general public.

To win the Test series, India prevailed in the two Test matches, winning by 280 runs in Chennai and seven wickets in Kanpur. Three T20 internationals between the sides are scheduled.
