In 1951 it was placed under the Prime Minister's Office, due to which it reports directly to the Prime Minister.

How are agents selected

The background of the candidates who are successful is investigated. Before joining Mossad, the candidates have to undergo very rigorous training. The full name of Mossad is Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations. The work of Mossad is extremely secret and strategic. Its team is very efficient in its functioning. Agents do thorough research before identifying their targets. After this, they plan in advance to deal with any situation.

Special operations

Mossad has two major counter-terrorism units, these include Metsada and Kidon. Metsada carries out direct attacks, while Kidon's work is kept secret. Each of these units has agents with specialization and special training. Mossad's functioning is so clean that often no evidence is found.

Important missions

Mossad has conducted many important missions, such as "Operation Moses" to bring Ethiopian Jews to Israel. Apart from this, it also actively works against terrorist incidents targeting Jewish and Israeli citizens abroad.
