There is a difference in the use of clutch and brake in a car and a bike because the design and power transmission system of both the vehicles are different. Let us understand why the clutch is pressed while applying brakes in a car and why it should not be done in a bike.

Reason for not pressing the clutch while braking the bike

When brakes are applied on a bike, engine braking is used, that is, the power of the engine is used to reduce the speed of the wheels. This keeps the bike stable and control remains better.

If you suddenly press the clutch along with the brake, the wheels of the bike become free and the risk of slipping increases. Doing so can be risky, especially in an emergency.
