The Indian women’s team’s last Twenty20 international match took place at the ACC Women’s Asia Cup in July, when the Women in Blue were defeated by Sri Lanka in a closely contested final. Since then, several Indian athletes have competed in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL), while others have participated in the Women’s Hundred.

Prior to the team’s flight to the UAE, the BCCI also hosted a camp for them in Bangalore.
