The terror of leopard is not showing any signs of decreasing across the country. The incidence of leopard attacks has increased in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh in the last few months. Forest department teams also seem to have succumbed to leopard attacks. Till now, hundreds of people have died due to leopard attacks across the country, while thousands of people have been seriously injured. On one hand, the forest department and people are failing to catch the leopard. On the other hand, the Forest Department has formed a team of hunters from the state, which will now help the Forest Department in catching the leopard.
All the efforts of Rajasthan Forest Department to catch the leopard seem to be failing. In view of these failed attempts, the Forest Department team has formed a new team which is expert in hunting. Forest department teams are selectively making a list of poachers. These hunters will help the forest department in capturing and hunting leopards.
In the last few months, 10 people have died due to leopard attacks in Rajasthan, while hundreds have been injured. The responsibility of handling leopard terror incidents rests with Additional Chief Conservator of Forests Venkatesh Sharma, who has reached Udaipur with a team of special hunters from Jaipur. CCF (Wildlife) CRV Murthy has been made the coordinator of the hunters team. Earlier, Sunil Chidri was looking after the responsibility of coordination.
