Harassment of women at workplaces is common, Azekah Daniel

Lahore: Pakistani actress and model Azekah Daniel has said that harassment of women at workplaces is a common issue.

Recently, Azekah Daniel appeared as a guest on Dunya News popular show “Mazaaq Raat” where she openly discussed various topics including her career and personal life.

During the show, Azekah mentioned that despite movements for women’s rights and independence, there hasn’t been any significant reduction in harassment. She emphasized that people who harass women at workplaces should understand that women who step out for work are not looking for relationships.

The actress revealed that before joining showbiz, she worked as an air hostess, and it was during her time in the aviation industry that she received offers to act in dramas.

She further shared that while working as an air hostess, some passengers would give her their business cards which made her angry but she remained silent. She considers giving business cards to flight attendants as a form of harassment and she believes such incidents still happen today.

Regarding her showbiz career, Azekah stated that she left her job as an air hostess and started modelling and acting in 2010. However, after her first project, she didn’t get any further work for two years. She added that she will soon appear in a unique role and although it was a challenging character, she could not reveal more details about it yet.
