For a very long time, NBA fans all around the globe have been eager to see LeBron James and his son Bronny James play together. When LeBron’s Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny James in this year’s NBA draft, that fantasy began to come true. Considering that the superstar does not have much time left in the game, LeBron has been extremely open about his ambition to play in the NBA alongside his kid. During the Lakers’ preseason game against the Phoenix Suns, that desire came true.

LeBron and Bronny James, father and son, played their first basketball game together in the NBA against the Suns.

Being the first father-son team to play together is LeBron and Bronny.

During the Los Angeles Lakers’ preseason game against Phoenix on Sunday night, LeBron James and his son Bronny created NBA history by playing together for the first time.

The first father and son to participate simultaneously in an NBA game, much alone play for the same team, are LeBron and Bronny. The historic event in the James family’s history occurred on Bronny’s 20th birthday, by coincidence.

Replacing his father on the floor during the stoppage, Bronny James came into the game to start the second quarter. When Bronny’s name was called, the Coachella Valley’s Acrisure Arena audience applauded.

LeBron James Jr., often known as Bronny, was selected by the Lakers in the second round of this summer’s draft. LeBron James is starting his record-tying 22nd season in the NBA. Bronny played only one season at Southern California before declaring for the NBA and signing with the Lakers after recuperating from a heart episode more than a year ago.

The James family’s first two minutes together were not without incident: Bronny made two mistakes and LeBron made another. Moments later, just after LeBron made a 3-pointer, he passed the ball to Bronny, who attempted to make a 3-pointer but missed.

At the following dead ball, LeBron came off the court 25 seconds after Bronny was substituted out at 4:09 in the second quarter.

LeBron is about to turn 40, but he isn’t showing any signs of age.

LeBron James, the greatest scorer in NBA history, will be 40 in late December, but he hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. The Lakers made his lifelong ambition of playing in the NBA alongside one of his kids a reality by selecting Bronny with the 55th choice in the draft. He has spoken for years about this desire.

The 6-foot-2 Bronny will probably play with his 6-foot-9 father in a real game early in the regular season, but he is anticipated to spend the most of the next season honing his craft with the G League’s South Bay Lakers.

The Lakers have already spoken about the details of the next historic event, according to head coach JJ Redick, but he hasn’t disclosed when it will occur.

LeBron slept after a full week of training camp after a hectic summer by missing the Lakers’ preseason opener against Minnesota on Friday night. In his 16 minutes of action against the Timberwolves, Bronny finished with two points on 1-for-6 shooting and three blocked shots.

Before starting the regular season at home against Minnesota on October 22, the Lakers have four additional preseason games scheduled, all of which will take place outside of Los Angeles as their home arena is being refurbished.

When LeBron and his high school sweetheart, Savannah Brinson, became parents for the first time in 2004, they were just beginning their second NBA season together with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Zhuri, a girl, and Bryce, a boy, were their other two children.

Ever since LeBron returned from a summer vacation and the U.S. team won a gold medal at the Olympics in Paris, he and Bronny have been getting ready for the opportunity to play together. After an equally hectic summer, Anthony Davis also made his preseason debut against the Suns.

During practices at the Lakers’ training facility, the father and son have often scrimmaged against one another as opponents and teammates. Redick said that as a practice, they had even done pick-and-rolls together.

They will become the latest in a select group of dads and sons who have participated in professional sports in North America during the regular season. Hockey legend Gordie Howe played alongside his sons Marty and Mark for the NHL’s Hartford Whalers and the WHA’s Houston Aeros. Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. played together with the Seattle Mariners for a portion of the 1990 and 1991 MLB seasons.
