South Korean singer Park Jiyeon, a member of the K-pop group T-ara, and baseball player Hwang Jae Gyun have filed for divorce after two years of marriage.

Jiyeon’s lawyer confirmed the couple’s decision to divorce on Oct. 5, stating that irreconcilable differences led to their separation, according to Korea JoongAng Daily. The statement explained: “After spending some time apart, the two parties were unable to resolve their differences and chose to file for divorce.”

Both have since removed each other’s photos from their Instagram accounts.

The couple married in December 2022, with several celebrities, including IU and BTS’s Jin, attending their wedding. Rumors of a troubled relationship had been circulating for months, especially after Jiyeon stopped posting about Hwang. Speculation grew further in September when Hwang was seen out drinking with friends, including women.

Newscribe reported that before her marriage, Jiyeon had a brief relationship with actor Lee Dong Gun, who was allegedly unfaithful to her with actress Jo Yoon Hee. Lee went on to marry Jo just three months after his breakup with Jiyeon.
