Ram Gopal Varma on 35 Years of Shiva: “Wishing Everyone Involved In Its Making”

The 35th anniversary of the Telugu crime-action movie Shiva, which stars Nagarjuna, has been marked in Indian film. The movie came out on October 5, 1989, and was directed by Ram Gopal Varma. Shiva is Varma’s first movie as a director. It was produced by Akkineni Venkat and Yarlagadda Surendra under the names of Annapurna Studios and SS Creations. After that, the movie was made again in Hindi in 1990.

In honor of the 35th anniversary, Ram Gopal Varma sent his best wishes to everyone who worked on the movie. He wrote on X, “Today, October 5, marks the 35th anniversary of my adventure with @iamnagarjuna.”Happy birthday to everyone who helped make it.

Nagarjuna also remembers the times he talked with his dad and the famous star Akkineni Nageshwar Rao. “It’s been 35 years and one day since the famous #shiva came out!! “I will never forget that day when my dad, Anr garu, and I were driving in the car and he said, “I saw Shiva last night and heard it’s a big hit this morning. But I think it will become one of the biggest hits in Telugu film history!!” He wrote on X.

“Nana, your words were so very true. Thank you for all the love you still have for Shiva after all these years! It was possible because of many people, especially @RGVzoomin, he said.

RGV replied to his post and thanked him for being his first break. “Thank you for giving me the BEST BREAK OF MY LIFE.””There would have been no Shiva or me without your unwavering support and trust in me,” he wrote.

The movie also has Amala, Raghuvaran, Viswanath, and Tanikella Bharani in it. The movie was shot by S. Gopala Reddy, and it was edited by Sattibabu. The movie’s music was written by Ilaiyaraaja. Ram Gopal Varma wrote the story and the script, and Tanikella Bharani wrote the lines. Shiva also won a number of awards, such as the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Film, the Nandi Award for Best Director (Varma), the Nandi Award for Best First Film of a Director, and the Nandi Award for Best Dialogue Writer (Bharani).
