Tejashwi Yadav, the former deputy chief minister of Bihar, is accused of switching out brand-new air conditioners (ACs) with older models when he moved out of his former official house at 5 Deshratna Marg.

There is now a political dispute around his recent move to 1 Polo Road.

JD-U MLC Neeraj Kumar expressed concerns with Tejashwi’s departure from the parliament after a prolonged seven-month stay and emphasized the accusations made by staff members of Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s office.

According to the charges, Tejashwi Yadav’s employees swapped out the government bungalow’s new air conditioning units with older models.

Neeraj Kumar questioned the ethics of such behavior.

“If the claims are accurate, there should be grave concern regarding the use of public funds for the purchase of government property. According to the JD(U) MLC, “the government bungalows and their amenities are public assets, and any misuse reflects poorly on political standards.”

“I would like to request that Samrat Chaudhary give this some serious thought and see to it that, should the accusations prove to be true, appropriate action is done. If confirmed, the episode would represent a new low in Bihar’s political history since it may include the theft of public funds for private benefit,” he said.

This incident has heightened the political fervor in Bihar, where competitors from the JD(U) and BJP often question opposition leaders like Tejashwi Yadav.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh, who serves in PM Narendra Modi’s administration, voiced grave concerns over the claims made by Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Bihar, that he changed brand-new air conditioners with outdated models when moving out of his official residence at 5 Deshratna Marg in Patna.

It was a “petty act,” according to the Union Minister, especially for someone who wanted to be the Chief Minister of Bihar.

“The state government should initiate a thorough investigation about the expenses incurred on Tejashwi’s former ministerial bungalow and identify any further irregularities,” the minister said.

The matter at hand is 5 Deshratna Marg, which was first given to Tejashwi Yadav when he was the Deputy Chief Minister in the previous ‘Mahagathbandhan’ (Grand Alliance) government.

Tejashwi became the Bihar LoP after the political change, and the state government then gave him the official house at 1 Polo Road.

The home located at 5 Deshratna Marg has been transferred to Samrat Chaudhary, who is now the Deputy Chief Minister.
