The couple arrived in South Korea during the peak of tourist season, as the weather cooled and the trees began to turn color. Their trip is for both injury treatment and relaxation.

Soy-marinated crabs, known locally as wedge gejangare a favorite for both My and her footballer husband. The dish features fresh crabs sourced from the country’s coastal areas, soaked in boiled water many times to leave them partially raw, then marinated in a savory mixture of wedge (soy sauce), water, minced garlic, chopped chili, and ginger. This preparation preserves the fresh taste of the crabs, enhanced by the salty richness of the crab roe.
The dish is often paired with white rice or noodles.

In the current chilly Korean weather, the couple also opted for hot, spicy soups like kimchi beef rib soup, a striking red dish combining the tangy kick of kimchi with the rich flavor of beef ribs.

Octopus bibimbap (mixed rice), a variation of the traditional Korean bibimbap, is another dish the couple enjoyed. This dish offers the sweet, fresh taste of octopus, layered with bold flavors from vegetables, seaweed, perilla leaves, gochujang (Korean chili paste), and a special sauce.

For a light snack, the couple chose kimbap (rice rolled in seaweed), a popular Korean dish featuring rice rolls wrapped in seaweed and filled with ingredients like egg, cucumber, carrots, pickled radish, and fish cakes, topped with a sprinkling of white sesame seeds. Kimbap is a national favorite, commonly found at both restaurants and street vendors.

My also indulged in the Grand Walkerhill Seoul hotel’s signature dessert: chocolate square ice cream.

The couple’s trip also included a visit to Namsan Park, situated at the base of N Seoul Tower, a popular landmark in the city. Featured in many famous Korean dramas, the place offers attractions like a 360-degree observation deck, a love lock bridge, a teddy bear museum, a rotating restaurant, and a scenic walking path.
