According to Indian media, after the revelation of this illness, Salman Khan underwent surgery in the USA.

The Bollywood superstar Salman Khan who appears cheerful and charming on screen has faced health issues multiple times in the past. However, this time, the discussion is not about him getting injured during a shoot but rather about a dangerous illness that can even drive a person to suicide.

According to Indian media, Salman Khan fell victim to this dangerous illness in 2011, just before the release of the film “Bodyguard” which required him to undergo surgery.

Reportedly, just days before the release of “Bodyguard,” Salman Khan was afflicted with a neurological condition known as “trigeminal neuralgia.” This illness caused severe pain in his head, cheeks and jaw which the actor himself disclosed in an interview.

What is Trigeminal Neuralgia?

According to a report from a British news agency, “trigeminal neuralgia” is a condition that affects the nerves connecting the face to the brain leading to intense pain in the head and facial muscles for the affected patients. This is why the disease is also referred to as a “suicide disease.”

Medical experts consider this pain to be the worst in the world, with intensity so high that patients can experience extreme pain even from a gentle touch, shaving or brushing their teeth. When the pain becomes unbearable, it can lead them to contemplate suicide.
