Ever since Mohammad Yunus took over the reins of Bangladesh, his attitude towards India has been very indifferent. Yunus, who dreamed of moving forward with America and China, has slowly started coming out of his dreams. Now he has understood that India is a big power in South Asia and it is not easy for him to survive by ignoring it.

Yunus said in a recent interview, "It will be difficult for us to move forward without each other. It is natural that we should have deep and good relations in every field."

Mohammad Yunus, the chief advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh, has also said that despite the recent change of power in the country, Dhaka-Delhi relations should be very close, as it is in the interest of both countries. Yunus is not the first leader to take such a U-turn. Earlier, Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu was also raising his voice against India, but he has gradually changed his opposing stance.

India will be disappointed with us: Yunus.

In an interview with Bengali newspaper Pratham Alo on Tuesday, Yunus, on the question of tension in bilateral relations, said that the recent events in Bangladesh must have disappointed India and they are not happy with the changes. However, Yunus did not mention the changes.

India is concerned about the Hindus of Bangladesh.

Since Yunus came to power, India has been continuously demanding the protection of minorities in Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina had to leave the country as a result of student protests in August. After this about 600 people have lost their lives in the violence and this includes people from the minority community.

Muizzo's visit to India

Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu is currently on a 4-day visit to India with his wife. During this visit, he signed several agreements with India including a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), accepting Indian UPI, allowing India to open a new embassy, strengthening its defense capabilities with India's help, and promoting Indian investment in infrastructure.
