Sargi is a very important part of the fast of Karva Chauth. Especially people of the Punjabi community give Sargi. According to mythology, Sargi is a form of blessing that the mother-in-law gives to her daughter-in-law for good health. In Sargi, the mother-in-law gives makeup along with food items. After eating Sargi, women stay without water and food for the whole day.
