The president of South Korea’s popularity rating drops to 22%: survey

A weekly poll released on Friday revealed that South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol’s approval rating dropped to 22% this week from 23% in the fourth week of September, one percentage point lower than the previous survey.

Local pollster Gallup Korea said that Yoon’s handling of state issues received a poor evaluation that increased the percentage point to 69%.

During the specified time, support for the conservative People Power Party, which is now in power, fell by 3 percentage points to 28%.

According to Xinhua news agency, the major liberal opposition Democratic Party’s popularity rating decreased by 2 percentage points to 30%.

This week, the tiny, center-right New Reform Party recorded a 3 percent approval rating, while the tiny, left-leaning Rebuilding Korea Party registered an 8 percent support score.

A poll of 1,001 voters was done between Tuesday and Thursday, and the findings were based on that data. With a 95% confidence level, the margin of error was plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
