In the women’s recurve category final, Deepika, ranked third, lost 0-6 against Li Jiaman, ranked fourth. In 2024, Jiaman won the silver medal at the Olympics in Paris.

Deepika made her first World Cup participation in three years with this one. After her daughter was born, she had taken a hiatus from the sport.

After winning five silver medals and one bronze in her nine World Cup appearances, Deepika is still awaiting the elusive gold medal in a World Cup final. Dola Banerjee, who won the 2007 World Cup in Dubai, is the only other Indian to have earned a gold medal in the competition.

Deepika was defeated 26–27 in the first set by Jiaman, who finished with a flawless 30 points, including one arrow that struck the bullseye. Deepika was unable to rally in the second set. Deepika was only able to muster 28, which gave Jiaman a 4-0 lead.

In an attempt to make a comeback into the championship game, Deepika faltered under duress and fired her second arrow for a seven-pointer. Jiaman won the set and the match after making all nine pointers, thus it turned out to be the deciding factor.

Jiaman was making his debut appearance in a World Cup.

Alejandra Valencia of Mexico lost to Deepika in the semifinals.

Despite having a 4-to-2 advantage, Dhiraj Bommadevara was unable to capitalize and fell to Lee Woo Seok of South Korea in the first round of the men’s recurve competition. 4-6 (28-28, 29-26, 28-28, 26-30, 28-29) was Dhiraj’s loss.

In 2024, Lee Woo Seok won the bronze medal at the Olympics in Paris.

Prathamesh Fuge placed fourth in the compound archery division, while Priyansh and Jyothi Surekha Vennam were unable to advance to the medal rounds.

With three compound and two recurve archers, the five-person Indian archery team finished the World Cup Final of their season with only one medal.
