Different patterns for mid-level professionals and senior management

Regarding hiring in the tech sector, there are different patterns for newcomers, mid-level professionals, and senior management. Global capability centers (GCCs) have emerged as significant recruiters of new talent, offering entry-level candidates salaries 30% higher than the industry standard for in-demand skills. This surge is expected to continue, with GCCs projected to see a 40% increase in new hires compared to last year.

20 to 25% increase in new hires

While cautiously optimistic, the IT services sector is also expecting a 20-25% increase in new hires, given the demand for skills in software development, data engineering, and cloud technologies. Meanwhile, mid-level roles are exhibiting stability, with continued demand for project managers, data scientists, and cybersecurity experts. These roles have seen a salary increase of 7.89% to 10.2% compared to FY24, indicating the market's need for professionals who can use their practical experience to effectively manage and drive business operations.

Salary growth here ranges between 6.54% and 10.8%. Furthermore, analysis by TeamLease Digital shows that several key factors have driven this annual growth in tech hiring. The rise in AI, machine learning (ML), and automation skills have driven the demand for data-related roles.

Increase in skills in natural language processing

This is evident in the increase in job postings for data scientists, where nearly 69% mention ML skills in 2024. Skills in natural language processing (NLP) have also figured prominently, with demand growing from 5% in 2024 to 19% in 2025. This indicates a broad shift towards AI-powered solutions. Additionally, the growing need for skills such as Python programming, ethical hacking and penetration testing, Agile Scrum Master, AWS security, and JavaScript reflect the evolving landscape of tech hiring."

Hiring in cloud engineering, development-related roles pick up
