Central government’s order on Diwali, important news for these employees

The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare has issued an order dated October 30, 2024 for all Central Government pensioners/family pensioners, the Personnel Ministry said in the statement.

7th pay commission: On the occasion of Diwali, the Central Government has issued an order to give an additional installment of Dearness Relief (DR) to its retired employees. The Ministry of Personnel said in a statement that the Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare has issued an order on October 30, 2024 for all Central Government pensioners/family pensioners.

What is in the order

According to this statement, now the Central Government pensioners including family pensioners are entitled to receive higher amount of dearness allowance and dearness relief. Under this, they will get 53 percent dearness allowance and dearness relief instead of 50 percent of their basic pension/family pension. This increase will be effective from July 1. That is, pensioners will get the outstanding amount due to the increased allowance for the last four months.

Let us tell you that on October 16, the Union Cabinet had approved an additional installment of three percent dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) to the central government employees as well as pensioners. This increase was made from July 1, 2024.

Many states have announced

– Recently, the Arunachal Pradesh government has announced a three percent increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief for its regular employees, pensioners. With the amendment, DA and DR will increase from 50 percent to 53 percent.

– Haryana’s Nayab Singh Saini government also announced a three per cent hike in dearness allowance, dearness relief of government employees and pensioners from July 1. It has been increased from 50 per cent to 53 per cent of the basic pay from July 1, 2024.

 

-The Left government of Kerala on Wednesday approved an instalment of dearness allowance (DA) to state service employees and teachers. Finance Minister K. N. Balagopal also announced the approval of an instalment of dearness relief (DR) for pensioners.

 

– Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday announced a three per cent hike in dearness allowance and relief for state government employees and pensioners ahead of Diwali. According to a release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, with this hike, dearness allowance has increased from 50 to 53 per cent.
