Arsenal co-owner Josh Kroenke has sent a promise to the club's supporters following the departure of sporting director . The Gunners confirmed in a statement, released on Monday evening, that at the Emirates Stadium.

Before serving as Arsenal's sporting director, Edu was part of the famous Invincibles squad - as a player - during Arsene Wenger's time as manager. The 46-year-old returned to the Gunners in 2019 to work as technical director before being promoted three years later to the position of sporting director, which he's now vacating.

Edu leaves Arsenal with the club currently fifth in the Premier League table after the defeat to Newcastle at the weekend. The Gunners slipped behind Chelsea and Nottingham Forest in the top-flight standings and will look to return to winning ways in the Champions League against Inter Milan in midweek.
