On Thursday, November 7, 2024, all public and private sector banks across India will remain closed in observance of Chhath Puja in several states. This holiday, approved by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), will require customers to plan their banking needs accordingly.

Bank Closure on November 7 (Thursday)

To honor Chhath Puja, banks in many states, including Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, and West Bengal, will be closed on Thursday. Chhath Puja is a significant festival for North Indians, particularly in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Purvanchal, where worship is offered to the Sun God. The RBI has declared this holiday so that people can celebrate the festival with their families.

Note: Although branches will be closed, digital banking services—such as internet banking, mobile banking, and ATMs—will remain functional for customer convenience.
