The Bombay High Court has made a strong comment against the accused in the case of sexually assaulting his mother-in-law. The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court made this comment on Tuesday while upholding the lower court's decision against the accused.

A single bench headed by Justice G A. Sanap said that this is a shameful act and that the victim woman is like a mother to the accused. In December 2018, the session’s court sentenced the accused to 14 years of imprisonment in the case of rape of a 55-year-old mother-in-law. This verdict came in 2022. The accused had challenged the decision of the session’s court.

The complainant says that her daughter and son-in-law were living separately. The daughter's two children lived with the accused. The accused constantly asked his mother-in-law to help him improve his relationship with his daughter. For this, she went to the accused's house. There the accused sexually assaulted her. After this, she told her daughter about this. The daughter asked her to complain. After this, the complaint was lodged.

However, the accused denied this and tried to prove that the relationship was consensual. But, the court strongly condemned it. The court said that the victim was 55 years old. She is a woman of the age of the accused's mother. The accused should have treated her like a mother. The court said that if this relationship was consensual, she would never have told her daughter about it and would not have even complained to the police.

The court said that the accused had hurt the dignity of women. The complainant would not have thought of this even in her dreams. The accused has committed a very shameful act.
