Team India, which is seen in a new and explosive avatar under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, has won another front. After cleanly sweeping the series against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Team India has also defeated South Africa. In the fourth and final match of the T20 series played in Johannesburg, the Indian team defeated South Africa by 135 runs on the basis of record-breaking centuries by Sanju Samson and Tilak Verma. With this, Team India won the 4-match series 3-1. Sanju and Tilak scored centuries for the second time in this series but also made a record of scoring centuries in the same innings for the first time. After this, on the basis of deadly bowling of Arshdeep Singh, Team India had ensured the defeat of South Africa within 3 overs.

In this series, captain Surya won the toss for the first time and decided to bat first. Sanju Samson, who failed to open his account in the last 2 consecutive matches, again escaped being out on 0 in the very first over when his catch passed close to the slip fielder. In the same over, the other opener Abhishek Sharma got a lifeline in the slip itself when his easy catch was missed. Even after this, South Africa dropped many catches and they had to bear the brunt of it and Team India scored a mountain-like score of 283 runs by losing only 1 wicket.

Sanju and Tilak's centuries devastated South Africa

Sanju and Abhishek (36) gave Team India a strong start by making an explosive partnership of 73 runs within 5.5 overs. After Abhishek was out, Tilak Verma once again came in at number three. In the last match, he had scored the first century of his career at this number. Tilak (120 not out) continued the same form here as well and along with Sanju (109 not out), thrashed every South African bowler. Both of them together added 210 runs (not out) in a partnership of just 14.1 overs, which is the biggest partnership in the history of this format. First Sanju completed his century in 51 balls and then Tilak in 41 balls. This was the second century of both in this series and they became the first batsmen in the world (full member country) to score a century in the same innings.

Arshdeep played within 3 overs

If the Indian team batted like this, the same was expected from South Africa as well but it did not happen. The deadly seam bowling of Arshdeep Singh (3/20) and Hardik Pandya (1/8) put the South African batsmen in trouble. It did not seem that this innings was being played on the same pitch. Within just 3 overs, both of them together dismissed 4 South African batsmen, which included explosive batsmen like captain Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen.

Arshdeep took 3 wickets in the first and third overs, which ensured South Africa's defeat. After this, Tristan Stubbs (43), David Miller (36) and Marco Jansen (29) could only reduce the margin of defeat by playing short innings. Varun Chakravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel sent the remaining batsmen back to the pavilion by the 19th over and the entire team collapsed for just 148 runs.
