Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is contesting from Barhet seat in the Jharkhand Assembly elections. This is the reason why this seat is being considered as a super hot seat. BJP candidate Gamaliel Hembram is fighting for the CM. Meanwhile, the BJP candidate has claimed that his life is in danger. He has demanded security for himself.
A delegation of the party led by Jharkhand BJP's legal cell convenor Sudhir Srivastava reached the Election Commission. The delegation submitted a memorandum to the state's Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar and demanded security for the BJP candidate.
Sudhir Srivastava says that JMM workers are threatening BJP candidate Gamaliyam Hembram and his family. He said that the CM himself is contesting the elections from Barhet seat. It is not known who is a JMM worker and who is the administration. He said that the administration and workers together can do a big conspiracy, in such a situation, Hembram and his family members are in danger of life.
The convenor of BJP's legal cell also said that there have been several clashes between JMM workers and Hembram's supporters. This conflict can also take a bloody form. In this regard, the BJP candidate has expressed concern about his safety by releasing a video. He had written a letter to the Director General of Police and Superintendent of Police Sahibganj as well as Superintendent of Police Godda, pleading for his security, but till now he has not been given security.
Further, Sudhir Srivastava said that in the name of security, the two bodyguards given to Hembram were given to him only to fulfill his duties, which is not enough, no security has been given even at Hembram's house, due to which Hembram And a situation of concern has arisen regarding the safety of his family.
The BJP delegation has expressed apprehension that there may be a fatal attack on Gamaliel Hembram even before the elections. They can be harmed in some way or the other. The delegation has also given a copy of the application regarding Hembram's security to the Election Commission. In this matter, the Chief Electoral Officer has ordered an investigation and has also assured the delegation that immediate action will be taken.
Barhat seat is also included in the 38 assembly seats of Jharkhand for which voting is to be held on November 20 in the second phase. From here, Chief Minister Hemant Soren is the candidate of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha for the third consecutive time. In the years 2014 and 2019, Soren had won from Barhat.
However, this time the equation has changed, where BJP has made Gamaliel Hembram the candidate from Barhet against Hemant Soren, while BJP leader Simon Maltot has become a rebel after getting angry over being denied the ticket. Changing sides, he has left BJP and joined Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and is supporting CM Soren.
