During my recent trip to central Vietnam, I struggled to access the internet using the free Wi-Fi service at Da Nang Airport, which has been recognized as one of the world’s 100 best airports by the global aviation organization Skytrax.
While waiting for my flight to Ho Chi Minh City, I needed to complete some work on my computer and attempted to use the free Wi-Fi available at the airport. However, I was unable to connect to the internet, forcing me to rely on the 5G service from my phone instead.
This left me both surprised and disappointed, as Da Nang Airport’s infrastructure has been honored multiple times by global aviation organizations. In April, both Noi Bai and Da Nang International Airports were included in Skytrax’s 2024 global ranking of the 100 best airports.
Unfortunately, inconsistent Wi-Fi service seems to be a recurring issue at Vietnamese airports. Even at Tan Son Nhat Airport, one of the busiest in Vietnam, the free Wi-Fi service is often unstable and frequently disconnects.
By contrast, when I arrived at Singapore’s Changi Airport, I experienced exceptional Wi-Fi quality in airport lounges. It was easy to see why Changi is consistently voted the world’s best airport.
Did you have trouble accessing internet at Vietnamese airports?
