Ishwak Singh has established himself in the OTT industry during the last year. Beginning with supporting parts in films, the actor has produced popular web series such as Made in Heaven, Rocket Boys, and Paatal Lok. Berlin, his most recent release, was similarly well praised by critics.
Ishwak spoke about achievement in an exclusive interview with Zoom as he celebrates his 35th birthday today.
In what way are you celebrating your birthday?
This birthday will be a working one. Despite my very busy schedule, I’m content because of the amazing individuals I work with. They’ll have me for the whole day.
What birthday-related recollections do you have from your early years?
In the past, my birthday week was almost a celebration. Both on my actual birthday and during the week, I would have little get-togethers. My family and I would visit my favorite restaurant.
Over the last several years, a lot has changed for you. Do you notice the difference?
I’m living the dream, indeed. But I want to keep eating, so I try not to worry about it. What hasn’t changed is my youthful delight when I think about beginning a new movie or program; it’s the reason I began acting, and it’s worth a million dollars.
In what ways do you reflect on your early years of hardship?
I understood from away that this would be a difficult undertaking, so it didn’t feel like a battle. I was as much a believer in the process then as I am today. I was learning the ropes and never made any bones about it, but it’s a long process with boring moments at every turn. This is a patience game.
What kind of offers are you currently receiving? Do you have too many options?
I really can’t complain since the offers, the directors, and the films are all growing better and larger. However, I don’t give much thought to any of it. I put a lot of effort and my all into my job. I am aware that these things are noticed by filmmakers. More than anything, I thrive on that.
Do you think there is a saturation point in the OTT platform?
I believe that the mediocre will go overlooked since there is a lot of information out there and competition is fierce. In a sense, I believe it’s good; only excellent material with a particular aesthetic value and audience resonance will be able to dominate.
