You cannot get a more affordable EV than this as the tiny MG Comet is perhaps the best way to tackle parking problems along with being an urban runabout. MG Comet prices start from Rs 4.99 lakh under the BAAS program excluding the battery cost which means it is priced even lower than conventional hatchbacks. Of course, the Comet is available without this scheme too while in real world conditions the range is also very good for something this small. The range is 230 km with a 17.3 kwh battery pack.
The Tiago EV is the most affordable EV five door hatchback with prices starting from Rs 6.99 lakh. The Tiago EV is the electric version of the Tiago and has been quite successful due to its space, performance and the price at which it is available at. The entry level models will get you 250km range while the more powerful 24kwh battery pack version will bring the range to 315km. Tata has also regularly updated the features list for the car too.
The electric version of the Citroen C3 hatchback, the eC3 comes with a 29.2 kWh battery pack and the range claimed is around 320 km. The prices start at Rs 11.6 lakh. The talking point here is the SUV like styling and the range which is quite good for a hatchback of its size.
The Windsor is the latest EV from JSW MG while with the battery rental plan, the Windsor is priced at under Rs 10 lakh (Rs 9.99 lakh) which is very good value. The Windsor is based on an electric platform which means huge space at the back along with a flat floor while the range on offer is a decent 331 km with a 38 kwh battery pack. The Windsor comes with features like recline rear seats, 15.6-inch touchscreen and more.
The Punch EV sits on the new Acti.EV architecture which means it comes with features like a frunk along with a flat floor too. Prices for the Punch EV starts at under Rs 10 lakh at Rs 9.99 lakh while it has a 25 as well as a 35kwh battery pack. The range varies from 315 km to 421 km. It is the most affordable EV SUV with more features over the ICE Punch as well including a 360 degree camera, ventilated seats and twin 10.25-inch screens.
