Uttar Pradesh government facilitated diagnostic services for pregnant women through e-RUPEE vouchers. 14.5 lakh vouchers issued, Azamgarh leads.
Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has issued over 14.5 lakh vouchers under the e-Rupay voucher scheme to give pregnant women better access to diagnostic services. These vouchers are being used at private health care centres, especially for crucial services like ultrasound.
According to the data released on Sunday, Azamgarh is at the top by issuing more than 61,000 vouchers. It is followed by Agra (56,000) and Badaun (53,000). Prayagraj is fourth and Deoria is fifth. The least number of vouchers were issued in Kasganj (4,352), Bhadohi (4,876) and Shamli (5,749). Out of the 14.5 lakh vouchers issued, 6.81 lakh vouchers have been used by the beneficiaries. This initiative has improved the efficiency and accessibility of health services. Because there are many needy pregnant women whose families are not in a position to bear the expenses of their treatment. This scheme is proving to be very helpful for them.
National Health Mission (NHM) Director Dr. Pinky Jowal said that this scheme reflects Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's focus on maternal and child health. She said that the aim of this initiative is to provide timely necessary diagnostic services to pregnant women and ensure transparency in health services.
Dr Jowal further added, "Being a completely digital scheme, it ensures that the benefits reach the targeted beneficiaries directly. This has not only improved healthcare services but also curbed corruption." The e-Rupee Voucher Scheme is a major step towards making healthcare more efficient and transparent in Uttar Pradesh. This initiative is a reflection of prioritising women's health and ensuring better healthcare delivery in the state.
