The country is soon going to get the gift of its first night safari. On Tuesday, Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath held a review meeting regarding this night safari being prepared in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. In the meeting, the CM took stock of its preparations and gave instructions to complete it as soon as possible. After the meeting, CM Yogi said that the country will get its first night safari by December 2026.
This night safari being built in Lucknow will be the first night safari in the country and the fifth night safari in the world. The Uttar Pradesh government is building it on the lines of Singapore. There are currently 13 day safaris in the country, but not a single night safari. After its completion, it will be the first safari of its kind, where tourists will be able to roam around even at night.
This night safari being prepared in Kukrail forest area of Lucknow is spread over 900 acres. There will be greenery in 72 percent area and it will be operated with solar energy. The government plans to provide rides on trains and jeeps along with local guides in this safari.
Apart from this, facilities like canopy walk, camping, mountain bike track and food court are being developed in it. According to the information, there is a plan to make leopard safari in 75 acres, bear safari in 60 acres and tiger safari in 75 acres.
In setting up the Night Safari, maximum open areas which are not currently in use are being utilized without disturbing the existing flora and fauna. Wherever the Kukrail forest area is connected to the outer area and road, a four-lane road is being built, so that there is no inconvenience to the visiting tourists. The government plans to develop the river front by channelizing the Kukrail river present here.
