JEE Advanced 2025 Exam: The constant changes in the rules of the JEE Advanced exam have upset the students. The Joint Admission Board is under fire as to what thinking so many changes are being made continuously. Students are also sharing their ordeal on social media.

Tension of students increased due to JEE Advanced

The tension among the students started even before the application process for JEE (Advanced) 2025 for admission to 23 IITs in the country. The Joint Admission Board, which sets the rules for this exam, is also under question. The board reversed its decision in just 13 days and its effect has also started showing. On November 5, it was told that now a student can appear in JEE Advanced for three consecutive years, whereas since 2013, the rule of giving only two chances to the students was in place.

Just 13 days after that, it was informed that the 2013 rule would be applicable again, that is, a student will get a chance to appear in the exam only twice in a row. The reason for this was also not clarified as to why it was decided to give three chances first and why the old system was implemented again later.

JEE students narrated their ordeal on social media:

A student Vishal said that he started preparing for JEE Advanced after the notification of November 5, but the criteria was changed just 13 days later. He said that he left NIT Jalandhar College to focus on preparation and now I will not be able to take the exam. Many students have been troubled by such a decision of the board. I am unable to give it. This has put me in trouble.

The students have appealed to the Board as well as the Ministry of Education and have demanded a review of this decision. The number of attempts to appear in the exam has been reduced to two again. Those students who appear in the JEE Advanced exam who come in the top 2.5 lakh ranks in the JEE Main exam. The number of seats in 23 IITs is also more than 17 thousand.

Students securing the top 2.5 lakh ranks in the BE-BTech paper in JEE Main 2025 will get a chance to appear in JEE Advanced. This number can also be higher. The age limit cutoff has been kept at October 1, 2000.
