Mukesh Ambani vs Gautam Adani: Rs 16600 crore plan of Adani to challenge Jio World Convention centre

Gautam Adani is planning to invest $2 billion to construct Mumbai’s largest International Convention Centre (ICC). The Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has given its consent on the overall design of the project Livemint reported.  The Adani group will present a detailed blueprint to get the approval within two months as was mentioned in the report. It will create over 5 lakh job opportunities directly and indirectly.  Adani’s ICC proposal is being seen as posing a challenge to Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio World Convention Centre situated at Bandra-Kurla complex. Adani’s ICC proposal is located at vile Parle nearby at Mumbai International airport. It will give an easy accessibility and visibility to the visitors.  The project spanned 1.5 million square feet and it has the capacity to accommodate 20000 people. The ICC will have 1.2 million square feet for indoor space and 0.3 million square feet for parking space. The Centre will have a five star hotel with 275 rooms.  At present Reliance Jio Convention Centre is Mumbais largest centre which has a space of one million square feet. India’s largest convention centre is Yashobhoomi in New Delhi which has 3.2 million square feet of space.
