The Range Rover Sport has been quite a popular model in the Indian market. It was earlier launched as a CBU unit but later, Land Rover decided to produce them in India, exponentially slashing the price. Range Rover has now hiked the price of the Range Rover Sport by Rs 5 lakh making the starting price Rs 1.45 crore (ex-showroom).
The reason for the price hike is the introduction of a new entry level variant. Earlier, the locally produced Range Rover Sport was only available in the Dynamic SE variant but they have discontinued that model all along and the new entry level variant is the Dynamic HSE which is loaded with a lot of features of the SE.
The Dynamic HSE comes with powered, heated, ventilated and massage seats trimmed in semi-aniline leather. There is also a heads up display, auto park assist, air suspension, heated rear seats, front and rear winged headrests, illuminated seat buckles, illuminated aluminum tread plates, and a Meridian sound system.
The Dynamic HSE is available the same two engine options. The P400 comes with a 3.0L turbocharged six-cylinder engine which produces 394 bhp and 550 Nm of torque. The D350 is a 3.0L diesel which produces 346 bhp and 700 Nm of torque. Both the engines are paired to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.
The Range Rover Sport lineup doesn’t end there as one can also go for a P460e Autobiography which is a plug-in-hybrid, a P530 Autobiography which is powered by a BMW sourced 4.4L twin turbocharged V8 engine and the crazy P530 SV Edition Two which is the most performance oriented version of the vehicle.
