The CBI court has finally announced the punishment in the land-for-job scam 29 years ago in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. In this scam, 22 people got jobs in CCL company in exchange for land. Whereas not even an inch of land of these people was acquired. The matter is of Piparwar area of ​​Ranchi. This came to light in 1998, three years after these appointments. When the matter gained momentum, the state government handed over the case to the CBI.

CBI, after the preliminary investigation, registered the FIR on 18 August 1998 and after the investigation that lasted for five years, filed the charge sheet in the court on 3 May 2003. This case remained pending in the court for 21 years. However, now the court has declared the punishment to 22 people including CCL company GM Haridwar Singh and his son. Case Diary's company GM Haridwar Singh had sent a proposal for these appointments to the CCL headquarters after the land was acquired.

28 appointments were made in two times

On the basis of this proposal, 18 people got jobs in 1995 and 10 in 1996. According to the case diary, all these 28 appointments were made with the connivance of the officials and all the documents attached were fake. During the investigation of this case, CBI had made three accused government witnesses, while the case of one accused was closed. During the trial in the court, apart from the then CCL GM Haridwar Singh and his son Pramod Kumar Singh, 22 accused have been found guilty of this fraud.

Those who got jobs were punished

These include Manoj Kumar Singh, Krishna Nand Dubey, Murari Kumar Dubey, Manoj Pathak, Pramod Kumar, Dinesh Roy, Lalit Mohan Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Mandeep Ram, Baijnath Mahato, Hemali Chaudhary, Binod Kumar, Jaipal Singh, Bipin Bihari Dubey, Bansidhar Dubey. , Niranjan Kumar, Ajay Prasad, Kedar Prasad, Parmanand Verma and Gurugudayal Prasad. All these culprits have been sentenced to 3 years each. While hearing the case, the court has imposed a fine of Rs 58 thousand on Haridwar Singh and Rs 8 thousand each on other 21 culprits. Due to lack of sufficient evidence in this case, the court has acquitted two accused MK Sinha and Dashrath Gope.
