In ‘Operation Muskan,’ Azamgarh police in Uttar Pradesh reunited a lady who had been lost for over 50 years with her family, ending the separation. According to authorities, the 57-year-old, known as Fulmati, aka Fula Devi, was kidnapped when she was eight years old while visiting a fair in Moradabad.

According to Superintendent of Police Hemraj Meena, an old guy abducted Fulmati and sold her to a Rampur resident. She established a life there, but she never gave up looking for her family. When Rampur schoolteacher Dr. Pooja Rani told Additional SP Shailendra Lal about Fulmati’s statement on December 19, the matter came to light.

Fulmati’s recollections of her maternal uncle Ramchander and their house led a police squad to a hamlet in the Mau area. After her identification was verified by her uncle Ramhit, the crew found her brother Laldhar in the Azamgarh hamlet of Bedpur.

The cops set up a reunion after confirming Fulmati’s identification. SP Meena said, “This success under ‘Operation Muskan’ reflects our commitment to finding missing persons,” and that it was really touching to see the family’s happiness. The police’s commitment was commended by the community, and Fulmati and her family conveyed their sincere appreciation.

Another example occurred on Wednesday when Saakamma, a 50-year-old mentally ill lady who had been gone for 23 years, was reunited with her family in Karnataka. Her tale reached authorities when IPS officer Ravinandan BM posted a video on social media about her being discovered at an elderly care facility in Himachal Pradesh.

After coordinating efforts, the Social Welfare Department located her family in the Vijayanagara district’s Dananayakanakere village. Another successful attempt to bring missing people back to their loved ones was made when Saakamma was flown to Bengaluru for the reunion.
