Despite his early success the later years of his career saw a drastic change and his golden period came to an unexpected end. Within two years seven of his films failed to perform at the box office marking a dramatic downturn in his career. These films were Mehbooba Bundle Baaz Anurodh Tyaag Chhaila Babu Karma and Chalta Purja. These back-to-back flops sent the actor into depression. Rajesh Khanna passed away on July 18 2012 after battling cancer for many years.
